Entry Foyer Bates Elementary School had many challenges beyond bricks and steel. This entry introduces "passengers" to the interior nautical design elements. In addition to serving as a major architectural focal point, this is the area where critical design and access issues needed to be addressed. This area ties together two existing wings built at different levels, and houses a new mechanical basement providing required support for this "newly commissioned vessel." |
